First Day of Kindergarten!

Gavin started Kindergarten last week. He was so excited to start and it has gone great so far. His teacher's name is Mrs. Oldroyd. She is really young and cute and I think Gavin may have a crush on her already. We decided to do afternoon session so that he would be able to ride the bus both ways. Some days I think he is more excited to ride the bus than to actually go to class. He has a friend who lives across the street from us that rides the bus with him and I think they have a great time together. 

 He was kind of being a pain about me taking pic's, so this is a good as it gets. He doesn't look all that excited, but I promise he was. He had asked me all morning if it was time to go yet.

 Parker on the other hand, was very cooperative and wanted his picture taken. Only 4 more months and I can put him in Preschool. I am not planning on it--but there is that option :). He is having a hard time adjusting to having Gavin gone, He doesn't understand how I can just let him get on the bus and drive away without us. He asked about him all day the first week he was gone.

The first day he wanted me to take him to class, rather than ride the bus, when we walked in and found his classroom he didn't want me to come in with him. :(  I am happy that he has become so independent but it's still hard to see him grow up. I snuck in anyways, and took one pic then he made me promise to leave. When I went to pick him up, he had decided to ride the bus home. When he got off the bus, he was happy and said he had had a great day.

I still can't believe that I have a child in the public school system, feels weird to me. Although, I am enjoying the  afternoons to myself and not having to run back and forth all the time with pick up and drop off. Hopefully we have a great school year!

Gavin officially graduates Preschool

Gavin ended up doing about 2 1/2 yrs of preschool by the time you add in summer sessions. I know, it's a bit much--but it helped solve his boredom problems. Everyone is so much happier if Gavin is able to get out of the house and get his social time in. This year he did 2 different classes, he went to Mrs. Hardman's (his aunt) class on Mon/Wed/Fri. And to Mrs Staheli's class on Tues/Thurs. He loves school, hopefully he feels that way for a long time!

 He had 2 speech parts, and was able to memorize both of them.

 Giving his teacher a hug, it was so fun to have my sister be his teacher this year. I liked hearing her stories about things he did while he was there, and also things he excelled in and things that he needed to work on.

 It's official--no more preschool for this guy! Next step--Kindergarten!

 Parker is obsessed with biting his toe nails. He bites them so much that he is always telling me he has an "Owie toe, Mom." Much as we try to make him stop, he won't. I guess the nice part is I never have to trim his finger or toe nails.

Coloring Easter Eggs

 Parker only got to hold the boiled eggs for a minute, he loved to throw the eggs in the coloring liquid so it would splash out and then he'd laugh.He just got to watch after that.

 Yep, you wonder why my kids are weird? It's all their dad's fault! ;)

 He couldn't be left out of the apron wearing--we really need to invest in an apron for the poor kid, so he doesn't have to wear mom's all the time.

I gave the boys an icecream cone one day, as you can tell they both really enjoyed them, especially Parker!

Parker turns 2!

Parker turned 2 on Jan 26th. We had a family party for him at my moms house. He was excited to have us sing "Happy Birthday" to him, and we did it 3 times because he liked it so much. He even blew out the candles all by himself. His favorite past time at that time was to play in the water. He loves, loves, loves to play in the kitchen and bathroom sink. We have to keep the barstools on top of the kitchen table so he doesn't get into the water. My parents have a drinking fountain outside and this summer he has drenched himself every time we are there. Needless to say, I keep a couple changes of clothes at their house. He runs and jumps everywhere he goes, this child has more energy than I have ever seen in a kid. It is absolute torture to make him sit still and in 1 spot for more than 2 minutes. We love our little Toad!

X-MAS 2010

Christmas morning we discovered that Santa had visited us. Gavin is such a fun age--he was so beyond excited to see what Santa brought. That being said though--we actually had to wake him up that morning. Parker woke us up at his normal 7:15ish, and Gavin was still snoozing. Gavin got the Batman house and Joker house. (Unfortunately, Parker has played with it a ton more than Gavin ever has). And of course, he got lots of candy!
Parker got a play kitchen--yes I know this is a "girl" toy--but he loves it. He has enough boy in him to pull it off!
Bressain and I decided to call the new carpet our x-mas, but Santa did bring us some new clothes.

It's a fact--I am a terrible blogger! Now that Gavin goes to school and Parker naps at that time I am going to try to play catch up. I was going through old pic's--and it's really sad that I have missed a lot of things going on. I am going to try to put a few blog posts together so I have record of the history with the pic's. I'll start with these cute Santa pic's. Parker surprisingly didn't cry or anything. He was totally fine with sitting on his lap. Gavin asked for a batman house and candy. Parker just stared at him--he was ok with being surprised :).
